NFC radio frequency technology has been developed so that patients do not need to draw blood? Near field communications (NFC) is a radio frequency protocol that can transmit data between devices within a distance of 10 cm or in direct contact. Smartphones and tablet computers with Android operating system are now supporting NFC, so the application of NFC is expected to be widely popularized in the future.

At present, medical equipment manufacturers have begun to conduct related experiments, implanting miniature NFC blood glucose sensors under the skin of diabetic patients, and then placing a smartphone or tablet computer equipped with an Android-specific application program close to the implanted part of the sensor, and the patient can be read at any time. blood sugar level.

The host device can not only automatically transmit the read data to the patient's attending physician, but the program can also be set to remind the patient to do the test regularly, or when the patient does not have a regular test, the sensor will also notify the medical staff.

NFC sensors are well suited for this type of application mainly due to the following reasons:

* No external power supply is required, as the sensor interface can borrow power from the NFC reader's RF emissions.

* Fast and convenient, as the sensor is automatically paired with the host device in real time.

* Size is small.

* Inexpensive.
